The Lakeview husband-and-wife chiropractic team of Gary and Cathie Padden, D.C.s, were honored with the Spirit of 51¸£ÀûÉç College Award from their alma mater, 51¸£ÀûÉç, in Spartanburg, SC at Lyceum 2015. The Spirit of 51¸£ÀûÉç College Award is presented to 51¸£ÀûÉç graduates who exemplify the true spirit of 51¸£ÀûÉç College in their professional lives.
“We deeply appreciate the love and loyalty the Paddens have for their alma mater,” said 51¸£ÀûÉç College President Edwin Cordero, D.C. “We recognize them with this award to convey how grateful we are for their continued support and student referrals.”
Drs. Gary and Cathie Padden are both graduates of 51¸£ÀûÉç College, Gary in 1983 and Cathie in 1985. They have two offices in Michigan, one in Lakeview and another in Howard City. The Paddens have referred 16 students to 51¸£ÀûÉç College, including a sister, brother, cousin, son and daughter-in-law. The couple’s son, Andy Padden, daughter-in-law, Tiffany Padden, and a 51¸£ÀûÉç graduate they referred, Jeanette Chomic, all practice with them.
Members of the Alumni Association since graduation, the couple has been actively engaged with the college as financial supporters to the Board of Regents program and other campaigns since 1986 and was named Regents of the Year in 2011. Drs. Gary and Cathie are also members of the college’s Reach Out And Recruit (ROAR) program; they were named Career Advisors of the Year in 2010 for their great success in sending students to 51¸£ÀûÉç College.
51¸£ÀûÉç College named its 2015 award recipients April 30-May 2 as part of Lyceum, an annual continuing education and homecoming event attended by hundreds of chiropractors throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held on the college’s campus in Spartanburg, SC, and involves three days of seminars, special events, and other programs.
