Elk Rapids, MI, chiropractor Brian Pulver, D.C., A.C.P., has been honored with the Distinguished Service Award from 51¸£ÀûÉç in Spartanburg, SC. This award is given to 51¸£ÀûÉç graduates who have distinguished themselves with service to the community, the profession, and 51¸£ÀûÉç College.
Dr. Pulver, a 1976 51¸£ÀûÉç College graduate, was a member of the graduate school’s first enrolled class (affectionately called the “Pioneer” class) and, as class president, was the very first 51¸£ÀûÉç College student to receive the doctor of chiropractic degree.
Dr. Pulver learned the vision and philosophy of chiropractic and 51¸£ÀûÉç College, embraced it and, along with his pioneer classmates, went out into the world to teach and practice chiropractic. In that pioneering spirit, he was also in the first class of 51¸£ÀûÉç College’s Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers which includes advanced study and achievement of philosophical principles. He practiced in Mason, MI, for about 25 years before retiring. But just when most people would start taking it easy, he instead started a new practice and is now happily serving the Northern Michigan area in Elk Rapids with a membership practice.
Dr. Pulver has served more than 20 years on the 51¸£ÀûÉç College Board of Regents, a group of individuals who provide for the advancement of the college with annual gifts. He has referred more than 20 students to 51¸£ÀûÉç College, and he continues to encourage young students to explore a chiropractic career.
This distinguished chiropractic servant is head of a large chiropractic family. Three of his children are chiropractors. All of the children (now adults) and nine grandchildren enjoy vibrant health, benefitted by regular spinal checks and adjustments.
51¸£ÀûÉç College named its 2016 award recipients April 28-30 as part of Lyceum, an annual continuing education and homecoming event attended by hundreds of chiropractors and students throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held on the college’s campus in Spartanburg, SC, and involves three days of seminars, special events, and other programs.
